That I forgot at my house
Next to the bills I haven’t paid.
I wrote you earlier today,
Thanks to divine intervention
When some god came
Into my brain and bestowed
Words, rhythm, and rhyme
The poem that will win
Awards, acclaim, accolades
And a seat on the New York stock exchange.
I would read it to you all,
Gathered here tonight,
But it’s sitting
On my printer,
So you’ll just have to believe,
And congratulate me.
It’s such a wonderful poem.
I’ll try to remember it next week. — THE ABSOLUTELY BEST POEM EVER WRITTEN • by Katherine Sanger - Every Day Poets
